Amer Fort (Amber Fort):
Begin your day at the Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This majestic fort was built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I, a trusted general of Emperor Akbar. It later served as the principal residence of the Kachwaha rulers. Explore the fort's impressive architecture, including the Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), and Sukh Niwas.
Don't miss the chance to ride an elephant up to the fort (if available), but ensure the elephants are well-treated.
Panna Meena Ka kund:
It is one of the ancient stepwells of Jaipur which was erected by the royal family to store the rain water which was used by local people in dry season. A series of steps are going downwards to the water level. Standing next to the imposing Amber fort a must visit place to be seen while in Jaipur.
Jal Mahal (Water Palace):
Drive to the picturesque Jal Mahal, a palace partially submerged in the Man Sagar Lake. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 18th century, it served as a hunting lodge and pleasure palace. Enjoy the view of the palace from the banks of the lake. Although you can't enter the palace, the setting and the reflection in the water make it a picturesque spot for photographs.
Lunch Break:
Savor traditional Rajasthani cuisine at a local restaurant. Try dishes like dal baati churma, laal maas (spicy mutton curry), and gatte ki sabzi.
City Palace:
Visit the City Palace, a royal residence built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. It combines Mughal and Rajput architectural styles. Explore the various courtyards, museums, and galleries within the complex. The Chandra Mahal, a part of the palace still used by the royal family, is a highlight.
Jantar Mantar:
Walk to the nearby Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the early 18th century. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most significant observatories of its kind. Marvel at the precision instruments designed for astronomical observations, including the massive Samrat Yantra sundial.
Travel Tip 1: Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes as you'll be exploring historical sites on foot.
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds):
As the sun sets, head to the Hawa Mahal, an iconic pink sandstone palace built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Its unique design features 953 small windows (jharokhas) that allowed royal ladies to observe street festivities without being seen. The palace is beautifully lit in the evening, making it an excellent spot for photos. You can also explore the nearby markets for souvenirs.
Nahargarh Fort (Optional):
If you have the energy and interest, you can drive to Nahargarh Fort, which offers panoramic views of Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734 as a retreat. The fort is especially beautiful during sunset. Enjoy the vistas of the city as the lights come alive.

Javi G2025-07-18Grateful to the willingness of the guide and driver. Overall rating of 10. Programme adjusted to the time available. Right.Perhaps as a suggestion and given the little offer of activities in Agra I would have proposed reducing a night in Agra and adding it to Jaipur or Delhi.
gemma o2025-07-18A unique experience From arrival at the airport to the end of the trip we have had a magnificent experience. Both the guide and the driver were watching us at all times. They were polite, punctual, helped us choose meals (since we don’t like spicy). Amid, the guide, explained all the monuments and had the patience to take pictures. Overall it was great. We are looking forward to coming back to see other places in India.
